I’m Sorry, You’re Going To Do What With This MGB?!
When you see people pushing forward with crazy ideas like this Rover/Lotus powered 1966 MGB homebuilt GT3, I am reminded that there is hope for a Triumph revival. The spirit of this build is not far from the same impetus that drives me (albeit intermittently) to push for a new TR era.Why make life easy when you can make life interesting.
I agree completely with the sentiment of the quote and appreciate the tenacity and bold action that owner Jason Shalders and his build partner Chris Isaacs have undertaken with this project.

What could be more exciting than a 320 HP Allison t63c18 Turboshaft driven Triumph Spitfire?
Several graduating students in Arizona received the rusty Triumph Spitfire for free from a local British sports car shop. They are dropping in a turbine engine as part of a mechanical engineering senior project. I think the $3,000 budget and stock brakes should make it challenging – to say the least.

HI Van, thanks for the post. It’s amazing how difficult it is to gather like-minded friends of Triumph. I’m going to look for your SketchUp drawings and post them. Just having you leave a comment helps fuel my interest in making a new Triumph car! Thanks again, Kevin.

Some good points about BMW not wanting to create a new Triumph for fear that it competes with their own brand. I tend to agree, but have a vision for a new TR that is nothing like BMWs products.

In reply to: Kevin Kastner replied to the forum topic Concept cars in the group Design Used in many of the first rumor stories of the return of the Triumph. ViewObvious hints at the TR4 and TR6 in the headlight/grill combination. Overall, not bad IMO…but a little too pedestrian.
